About Us

Poundbury WI is open to women of all ages so why not come along to expand your horizons, learn new skills and have some fun. We don’t really fit the old-fashioned WI stereotypes but enjoy mixing the ‘best of the old’ with the new.

We are not for profit and volunteer run and provide a friendly place for women to meet new people. Our programme (see Monthly Meetings) endeavours to cater for a wide range of interests. From ‘Well Being’ to ‘Korean Cooking’, ‘Gin Tasting’ to ‘Fakes and Forgeries’, ‘Dorset Button Making’ to ‘Garden Safari’!

We meet at Dorchester Community Church in Poundbury at 7.30pm on the fourth Wednesday of every month. An ideal location with both relaxing café area and auditorium.

Beyond our monthly programme our committee and subgroups offer other opportunities for members to participate in. Currently we have a Walking Group, a monthly Lunch/Dinner Club, a Quiz team and book swap with more in the pipeline.

Through our WI a number of members have become involved with local initiatives focused on recycling and other eco friendly projects such as Boomerang Bags.

Annually our members suggest, and vote, on a local charity to support (see Fundraising).

We hope to see you at a meeting very soon!
